NASA Parawing Kite
Kite made from blue tarp, bridles masonry twine
My first traction kite. A single skin kite based on the NASA Parawing design (plans available here).
Super simple to sew, a blast to fly. Great starter kite.
Line tensile strength exceeded
Remarks: My roomate and I have become totally addicted with power kiting in general. At first, (as die hard macgyver types) we were determined to make all of our power kites from scratch. However, it quickly became apparent that purchasing a used power kite was FAR less expensive than making them. I do think it is important to build your first kite, because then you know how to repair and tune your next kites.
